English spelling is often irregular, making it difficult for learners to predict the spelling of unfamiliar words. For instance, the words &#8220;though,&#8221; &#8220;through,&#8221; and &#8220;thought&#8221; all have similar sounds but different spellings, which can be confusing for non-native speakers and children.
